I’ve been acting for fifty years, mostly in plays by dead people. I’ve played with The Royal National Theatre (including a world tour of Richard III and King Lear), the Royal Shakespeare Company (most recently as Brabantio in Othello), and Shakespeare’s Globe (a couple of dozen productions, including playing Toby Belch in Twelfth Night at the Globe, in the West End and on Broadway).
I’ve only occasionally been allowed in front of a camera. TV appearances include David Copperfield, The Bill, The Chief, Peak Practice, Holby City, Eastenders, and more recently; Dreamland, Stath Lets Flats and Flowers.
Films include Black Pond, The Darkest Universe, Portraits of Dangerous Women, Hero Hungry, The Trouble With Guns and The Joy of Growing Pineapples.
These days I enjoy teaching classical acting at LAMDA and I train and play regularly with the experimental pop-up guerilla theatre company THE FACTORY
